Okay so, some exposition here: back in the late 80s when I was little, there was this lady named Jamie who babysat me when my mom was at work (dad wasn't present), and she was really nice. Eventually she stopped showing up and my mom got a new babysitter, so I assumed she went off to get an actual job.
Cut to last week when I mentioned Jamie to my mom: apparently she went missing. My mom hadn’t told me, since I was little and she didn't want me worrying. She said the case went cold after a few months… Does anyone know anything about this case?

Heard of this one before. The story goes that she was found face down in a rubbish bin. There was blood at the scene, but due to improper handling and contamination of the samples, they were deemed unusable in the investigation. After that, the case faded into obscurity.

Jesus… That’s awful. Were there any potential suspects?

first of all, to answer your question, op: no. there were no officially recognized suspects, theres more that anon didnt mention. these are more theories than they are concrete evidence, but i feel its worth mentioning nonetheless. over the course of the next few weeks following the discovery of jamie’s body, 2 more were discovered, both having similar estimated times of death to that of jamie: all of which being within hours of eachother. their names were jeremiah frazier, and kevin fernandez. according to their relatives, they were both close friends with jamie.
the most suspicious part of this; however, is the fact that there was reportedly a 4th person in the friendgroup, who committed suicide not even a full month after the string of disappearances. the families of the victims urged law enforcement to search daniel’s apartment for evidence, as they believed he was the culprit. though, they never even entered the apartment. the families were criticized for, and i quote, “attempting to slander a dead man’s name”. soon after that, the case was abandoned entirely.
